The best part of running the QBC draw is the sheer delight our winners get when we tell them they have won the monthly prize. So when we contacted the latest winner, Sheila Cooper from Hazlemere, her initial response was “you’ve made our weekend”
Sheila wins £1088.80 after one of her numbers – 1242– was on the first ball drawn out of the bag on Thursday night at our WWST Members Meeting.
This prize couldn’t have come at a better time for Sheila and her husband Nick, as they had to miss last Tuesday’s game vs Wigan, when they had to have a new boiler fitted at home. So this prize will help them cover part of that unexpected expense.
Sheila tells us she’s been following the Chairboys since about 1969 but Nick goes even further back and he attended the 1957 FA Amateur Cup Final.
Nick, who now needs a wheelchair to get around, and Sheila are regulars at Adams Park and recently were able to travel to the away game at Northampton on the specially adapted Motts coach, with friends from the DSA and other supporters – all thanks to the extra cost being underwritten by the WW Supporters Trust. We are aiming for this to happen again for the away game at Reading on February 14th. If you want to travel on this coach please contact Alex Vickery – alexandervickery@hotmail.com
